Knox County Fair USMTS Race Up Next For McGee

(July 31st, 2007) -- The UPS Store presents the Ed Sheckler Memorial Knox County Fair Race in Knoxville, IL on Thursday, August 2, 2007. The cars and stars of the O'Reilly USMTS will be in action again this year, racing for a $2,000 top prize, with $250 going to the 24th place finisher.  Also racing will be the RA Benson Motorsports and J&J Steel Hobby Stocks for $500 to win and B-Modifieds for $300 to win. Hobby Stock rules will be what Burlington (34 Raceway), Lee County (Donnellson) and Memphis, MO uses weekly.

Come out to see eight time O'Reilly USMTS champion Kelly Shryock, Zack VanderBeek, Jason Hughes, Al Hejna, Tommy Weder Jr., Jay Poidinger, Scott Green, Corey Dripps, Jon Tesch, Steve Holzkamper, Tommy Myer, Mike Spaulding and many more!!! Plus local drivers Dean McGee, Kevin Peters, Donovan Lodge, Bruce Hanford, Thad Wilson, Ray Bollinger, Bob Dominacki, Darin Thye, AJ Fike, Tony Fraise, Michael Long and many more!!

Ed worked very hard at making this a big event for both the USMTS and the Knox County Fair. I just hope everybody will come out and support this race to show how much everyone appreciated his hard work and dedication to the sport of dirt track racing. As you know, Ed lost his battle to liver and pancreatic cancer back in December of 2006. So please help spread the word to join us on Thursday, August 2, 2007 at the Knox County Fair in Knoxville, IL.

Gates will open at 5, hot laps at 7 and racing to follow.   So come out and enjoy the fair before taking in a great night of racing. Plus come to celebrate the life of Ed Sheckler!!
