McGee Heads into Season Championship Race with Steam Written By: H7 Racing Team Galesburg, Illinois (August 29, 2007) -- The points season is quickly coming to an end for Dean McGee and after missing some races, he still lands a pair of top 10’s for points at 34 Raceway in West Burlington, Iowa and Lee County Speedway in Donnellson, Iowa. Lee County Speedway's Season Championship was supposed to be held on August 17th, but due to the amount of rain that was received last week, the race was cancelled. At the time, McGee was only 11 points out of the top 5, but the cancellation held them to 8th in the 2007 Point Standings. As for 34 Raceway, McGee will be starting the Season Championship A-Main in the 6th spot, sitting 15 points out of the top 5. The 6th place start will be the highest start for McGee all year long, due to his high point average that he has accumulated throughout the year. Strong finishes have parked McGee no higher than the 10th starting spot throughout the whole year, so this will be a nice change starting towards the front. The 34 Raceway Season Championship will be decided in the A-Main as Rich Smith holds a 1 point advantage over defending Track Champion Billy Roberts as they do battle for the 2007 Crown. The upcoming schedule for McGee will be mainly on a day to day basis as he gets into September and October. There are many races that require different rules and tires, so the team won’t know where they are going until the time comes. So please check the website often, as the schedule will be updated as soon as plans are finalized for the weekend. The schedule will include some big races such as the Illinois State Championship, UMP Fall Nationals in Canton, Illinois and Shiverfest in Donnellson, Iowa.
